Oakmont Senior Living builds out executive team

Oakmont Senior Living recently announced the recent promotions of four top-level staff members to help move the company forward.

The Irvine, California-based operator promoted Andrew Moret to vice president of culinary operations from director of culinary services; David Odien from vice president of facilities management to director of maintenance; Heather Evans from regional director of sales and marketing to vice president of sales and marketing; and Tamara Fernande from vice president of operations to senior vice president of operations.

Moret brings over two decades of restaurant experience, along with eight years working in senior living. In Odien’s new role, he will oversee new building operations, capital project management and integration of maintenance programs. Evans will be responsible for all sales and marketing support and initiatives in the central region of Oakmont Senior Living communities. Finally, Fernandez brings a decade of experience in senior living and started as a program coordinator.

Oakmont Senior Living is a brand of Oakmont Management Group, with the operator serving over 4,500 seniors across 44 communities in two states.

National Church Residences names VP of health care, board appointments

National Church Residences announced the promotion of Brianna Mettler from vice president of senior services to her new role as vice president of health care operations.

The Columbus, Ohio-based company also announced the election of Sean de Four and Jami Dewolf to the National Church Residences Board of Directors.

Mettler will now manage all senior service departments, from home health to community wellness and more. Additionally, she will direct operations at 16 senior housing properties in Ohio and Florida, while also overseeing more than 1,200 employees in the senior services and senior living divisions.

Mettler joined the company in 2006 as a regional rehabilitation manager and has risen quickly through the ranks.

National Church Residences serves more than 46,000 seniors through its array of housing and health care services with more than 360 communities in 24 states.

Milwaukee, Wisconsin life plan community welcomes medical director

Eastcastle Place, a life plan community in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, recently introduced Dr. Sandee Ramanujam, M.D. as the medical director for the property.

He will oversee the community’s health and rehabilitation center, assisted living and memory care units, and care for IL residents living at the community.

Texas Civitas community adds director

Long Creek, A Sunnyvale, Texas senior living community, recently welcomed Latosha Rotimi as the facility’s newest executive director.

She has worked under managing operator Civitas Senior Living since 2019, having started out as the wellness director for Cambridge Court, a community in Mesquite, Texas.

Rotimi started as a certified nursing assistant (CNA) and later as a med-aide. From there, she climbed the ranks and became a memory care director, assisted wellness director and weekend manager at various senior living communities.

In 2019, she began her career with Civitas as wellness director.

Presbyterian Senior Living announces swath of leadership promotions

Presbyterian Senior Living (PSL) recently promoted a range of staff to leadership roles.

Kate Andreacci to vice president of life plan services; Dan Krieger to senior vice president of risk, compliance and business development; and Charles Gergits was promoted to area director.

Andreacci will be responsible for identifying further expansion opportunities in programming, along with the development and implementation of strategy. Andreacci has been with PSL for over five years and has served as senior executive director, regional director of operations and most recently, regional vice president of operations.

Krieger has held multiple roles, having been key in developing a relationship that led to the purchase of Benchmark Therapies. He will serve as the primary interface with insurance and legal representatives for PSL, along with the development and implementation of new business lines and partnerships for the company.

Gergits will have oversight of the PSL life plan communities in eastern Pennsylvania, Kirkland Village and Cathedral Village. He previously served in nursing, administrator and executive director roles.

The new appointments take effect Nov. 1.

PSL provides services to approximately 6,000 residents in 30 communities across four states.

Charter Senior Living taps regional director

Naperville, Illinois-based Charter Senior Living recently announced the promotion of Christy Mink as regional director of operations.

In the role, Mink will be responsible for talent management, strategic planning and day-to-day operations of 10 communities in Tennessee and five communities in Kentucky. She previously served as operations specialist for the company.

Mink previously worked in various leadership roles, including executive director and business office manager for Senior Lifestyle and Brookdale Senior Living (NYSE: BKD).

Charter owns, develops and manages 40 senior living communities across the country.

Pegasus Senior Living community brings on sales director

Parmer Woods of North Austin, a Pegasus Senior Living community, recently welcomed Yvette Guerrero as sales director.

Guerrero brings “many years” of customer services, sales and marketing experience to Pegasus Senior Living, a news release announcing her hiring states, having also worked four years previously in senior living as a sales and marketing director with work in IL, AL, memory care and active adult communities.

Civitas Senior Living community onboards new director

Cambridge Court, a senior living community in Mesquite, Texas, recently named Carrie Bell as executive director.

Bell started at Cambridge Court in April 2018 as the Business Office Manager. In July 2021, Bell was executive director of another Civitas Senior Living community before returning to Cambridge Court earlier this fall.

Buckner Retirement Services welcomes new director

Nonprofit senior living community Calder Woods recently named Aaron Ortego as executive director, with outgoing executive director David Ummel to take the same role at a sister community.

Ortego comes to the community with an extensive care career behind him. He previously served as CEO for Autism Services of Southwest Louisiana and Direct Care Inc. He’s also worked as an administrative director of nursing of psychiatric services for Lake Charles Memorial Hospital, corporate director of nursing for Guarding Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, and director of nursing for Pathway Management where he served at Grand Cove Nursing and Rehabilitation and Landmark of Lake Charles.

Calder Woods is a life plan community in Beaumont, Texas and is located on a 17-acre campus of the Buckner Retirement Services company.

GreenFields of Geneva welcomes life enrichment manager

GreenFields of Geneva in Geneva, Illinois recently welcomed Kaitlyn Melendy as life enrichment manager.

Melendy helps residents by providing opportunities to pursue active and engaged lifestyles.

The community offers IL, AL, memory care, skilled nursing and rehabilitation services.

12 Oaks Senior Living promotes consultant to VP

12 Oaks Senior Living, a senior living management company based in Dallas, Texas, recently promoted Eilleen Aldridge to vice president of 12 Oaks Solutions Consulting.

In the role, she will be responsible for managing a team of consultants and setting the strategic direction for the division.

Aldridge brings more than 20 years of management, operations and team-building experience to her new role. She joined 12 Oaks Senior Living in 1999 and has served in various roles since that time.

Ingleside life plan community names director

Senior living provider Ingleside recently named Jason Basile as executive director of Ingleside at Rock Creek, a life plan community in Washington, D.C.

The life plan community is one of three nonprofit communities operated by Ingleside.

Basile has more than a decade of senior living experience, working in health care administration and serving in multiple executive leadership roles. He previously worked as the executive director for the Presbyterian Communities of South Carolina – Columbia.

Erickson Senior Living bolsters executive team

Baltimore, Maryland-based Erickson Senior Living recently announced Nicole Walker being promoted as senior vice president of human resources and chief diversity officer.

Walker assumed direct responsibilities for human resources in July, Erickson Senior Living CEO Alan Butler said in a news release, which culminated in the promotion after starting with the company in 1999.

She started as a human resources coordinator before becoming director of human resources at three Erickson-managed communities. She also served two years as a regional director before being promoted to vice president of regional human resources in 2017.

Mather welcomes senior vice president

Evanston, Illinois-based senior living operator Mather has hired Yvonne Jung, a hospitality industry veteran, to take over as its senior vice president of human resources.

Jung is responsible for the development and execution of all human resources policies and employee programs, while also working closely with Mather’s executive leadership. She will look to further develop the company’s talent acquisition, employee education, employee engagement, employee rewards and employee recognition.

She will also refresh the company’s culture initiatives and will lead its diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) initiatives.

Jung previously served as vice president of talent and culture at Auberge Resorts Collection, the Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group and Hilton Worldwide, according to her LinkedIn profile.

Acts Retirement Life Communities promotes VP

Acts Retirement Life Communities announced David Vega was promoted to vice president of operations analysis and compliance after serving more than three decades with the company.

Vega started in the company’s accounting department and previously served as corporate director of compliance. He will continued to oversee those areas and have expanded responsibilities as Acts Retirement Life Communities expands.

Chapters Living welcomes new staff members

Saint Louis, Missouri-based Chapters Living is growing its team thanks to the additions of Rebecca Kaufmann and Tyler Brady, both of whom have played instrumental roles in launching the company’s operations platform, a news release states.

Kaufmann joins Chapters as the senior vice president of quality of life and memory support, bringing 16 years of experience as a health care executive with an emphasis on senior living. Brady joins Chapters as senior vice president of strategic finance. He brings over 13 years of experience in finance to the new role.

Kaufmann will be instrumental in developing both memory care programming and total quality management platforms. Brady will lead the build out of the company’s financial platform that will drive financial performance going forward.

Commonwealth Senior Living announces leadership roles

Charlottesville, Virginia-based Commonwealth Senior Living recently named Mark Miyasaki as chief financial officer, Stephanie Pfingsten as senior vice president of resident care and Archie McAlexander as director of clinical services.

The new members of the leadership team bolster Commonwealth’s finance and resident care teams as it continues to grow its portfolio.

Miyasaki will oversee financial operations for all Commonwealth communities, bringing over 20 years of experience managing financials and operations. He previously served as Chief Financial Officer at Sodalis Senior Living.

Pfingsten brings more than two decades of nursing system development experience. She previously served as vice president of health and wellness at Charter Senior Living.

McAlexander was most recently the director of care transformation and quality care at Charter Senior Living and served as a divisional director of care management at Atria Senior Living for eight years.

Sales directors named for two Florida communities

Abbey Delray and Abbey Delray South senior living communities recently announced Allison Ross Tompkins and Sharron Empson-Hart have joined the respective communities as sales directors.

Tompkins is a former U.S. Army reserve officer and comes to the community with eight years of sales director experience, along with a decade of real estate experience.

Empson-Hart brings over two decades of sales and marketing experience to the role with sales experience in both U.S. and abroad. She also served as executive director at various communities in Connecticut and Florida.

Watermark community appoints executive director

The Watermark at West Palm Beach, a Watermark Retirement Communities site, appointed Sarah Ostrow as executive director to the luxury community in West Palm Beach, Florida.

The first residents are set to move into the community in March and Ostrow will oversee daily operations at the community that is part of the Élan collection of luxe communities.

Ostrow managed senior living communities in Florida and Ohio for more than 15 years, leading daily operations across assisted living, memory care, rehabilitation and long term skilled nursing facilities.

The 154-resident community will offer IL, AL and memory care.

Civitas Senior Living community adds ED, community relations director

Élan Westpointe, a Civitas Senior Living-managed community in Braunfels, Texas, recently welcomed Candace Scarcliff as executive director and Tricia Carson as community relations director.

Scarcliff started as a certified nursing assistant over four decades ago and spent the last 20 years in senior living roles, from wellness director to executive director and regional director of operations.

Carson became community relations director in late 2022 and previously served as an educational diagnostician for the New Braunfels Independent School District and a hospice care consultant for Seasons Hospice and Palliative Care.

BOK Financial promotes senior director

BOK Financial recently announced the promotion of Jessica Johnson to senior director of senior housing and care.

In the new role, Johnson will assume responsibility for all business development and relationship management activities with the company’s senior housing and care business.

She joined the company in 2006 as a Career Track trainee before working as an analyst and banker in the corporate banking group before joining a health care team that was formed in 2013.

Lutheran Senior Services names former Front Porch exec. as new COO

Lutheran Senior Services has selected a new Chief Operating Officer (COO), with Ron Schaefer stepping into the role.

Previously, Schaefer served as COO of Front Porch in Glendale, California and he also served as COO of Covia until the company was acquired by Front Porch. With more than three decades of nonprofit senior living management experience, he will lead strategy, communications and organizational integrity at Lutheran Senior Services.

Schaefer brings “exceptional knowledge, leadership experience and passion for serving older adults,” LSS President and CEO Adam Marles said in a news release.

With a background in life plan community leadership, he also has a strong track record in affordable housing and community service-based programming.

LSS operates 18 communities serving more than 13,000 older adults in Illinois and Missouri.

Erickson Senior Living welcomes Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging Director

Taneika Herman has joined Erickson Senior Living as the company’s diversity, inclusion and belonging director.

Herman enters the senior living industry from Under Armour, where she contributed to the company’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) programming as Under Armour’s global DEI lead. While there, she helped lead and execute the DEI corporate learning strategy and DEI retail strategy for stores and contributed to the DEI global corporate communications strategy.

Erickson Senior Living oversees a network of communities serving more than 28,000 residents. 

Lasell University’s Lasell Village names president

Lasell University in Newton, Massachusetts recently named Zehra Abid-Wood president of Lasell Village, the university’s on-campus senior living and learning community.

She comes to the role with over two decades of leadership experience in real estate, hospitality, education and residential senior care. She most recently worked as senior vice president of strategy and transformation at AlerisLife (NASDAQ: ALR).

Civitas Senior Living adds to leadership team at Texas community

The Brooks of Cibolo, a Civitas Senior Living community in Cibolo, Texas, recently announced new leadership team members at the facility.

Sandra LeBlanc was named executive director, Bianca Perez as community relations director and Doris King was promoted to wellness director.

LeBlanc previously served as executive director at the senior living communities Waterford on Huebner and Elan Westpointe, and brings over three decades of business management experience to the new role.

Perez started in senior living seven years ago as a concierge and then entered into sales and marketing.

King brings nearly three decades of senior living experience to her now role, having spent that time as a nurse mainly in AL care.

Cura Hospitality brings on longtime healthcare staffer

Cura Hospitality, a senior living and acute care dining services company, recently welcomed Joeleen Kielkucki as Cura’s business development director for the Midwest.

She previously served as corporate sales specialist with The Waters Senior Living Community in Minnetonka, Minnesota where she exceeded occupancy expectations in close work with the community’s leadership team.

Also, while at Recover Health in Minnetonka, Kielkucki coordinated care between multiple departments for home health referrals within senior living communities, transitional care units and hospitals. She additionally served as a hospice educator with Brighton Hospice in St. Louis Park, Minnesota.

Solstice promotes chief growth officer

Solstice Senior Living has promoted Cristy Ballard to its chief growth officer, effective Aug. 15.

A press release states in her new role, Ballard will continue to lead sales teams and marketing partners while expanding her focus to operations, with goals including enhancing the resident experience to encourage longer stays and identifying new revenue opportunities.

Ballard has been with Solstice since 2018 where she joined as a sales and marketing leader. Before joining Solstice, served as vice president for Life Enrichment and Memory Care.

Civitas names chief people officer

Anthony Ormsbee-Hale has been promoted as Civitas Senior Living’s newest chief people officer.

According to a LinkedIn post, Ormsbee-Hale will be contributing to the Civitas team’s success to “work alongside our talented team to enhance our workplace culture and employee engagement.”

Ormsbee-Hale has been with Civitas since 2018 and has held a variety of roles with the company, including regional director of sales and marketing, vice president of people operations and senior vice president of strategic operations.

Covenant Living names VP of Philanthropy

Covenant Living Communities and Services announced it has appointed Tanya Mazor as its new vice president of philanthropy on Aug. 29.

In her role, Mazor will be responsible for oversight on all aspects of the organization’s philanthropic initiatives, including donor engagement, fundraising campaigns and partnerships with local and national organizations, according to a press release.

Mazor previously held “key positions” at Jewish Home and Care Center Foundation, the Milwaukee Center for Independence and the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra, the release states.

Covenant Living of Golden Valley names executive director

Faith-based nonprofit Covenant Living of Golden Valley has named ​​Julie Niemann as the executive director at its senior living community.

In her role, Niemann is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the community.

According to a press release, Niemann brings more than 25 years of healthcare operations and strategic initiatives experience to the position.

The Springs at Sherwood gains executive director

The Springs at Sherwood in Sherwood, Oregon has appointed Amanda Sanchez as the executive director of the community.

In her role, Sanchez will oversee the operations of the community and “optimize the experiences” for residents, according to a press release.

Sanchez brings more than 15 years of senior living experience to the position. The release states she spent the last six years as executive director of Regency Park Assisted Living and Memory Care in Southwest Portland.
